A Los Angeles man was fatally wounded Tuesday as he held his 2-year-old son in his arms in the parking lot of a Koreatown liquor store, police said.
Robert Barrios, 30, was struck in the heart by a shot that came from the intersection of Pico and Hobart boulevards shortly after 4 p.m., investigators said. He died at California Hospital Medical Center. The motive for the shooting was unclear.
“There is a chance he was not the intended victim,” said Detective Dan Andrews, pointing out that other people were in the lot at the time. “It could have been an unlucky shot.” No one has been arrested.
