Ski Maker Elan Folds: Elan, the Yugoslav company whose skis were one of the world’s most popular, has gone bankrupt with debts of more than $250 million. The company, which had been trying to turn around management and production problems, said poor snow in Europe the last three winters seriously affected its sales.
