Ohio State’s Cooper Is Out Two Weeks After Surgery

Ohio State football Coach John Cooper will need about two weeks to recover from surgery Sunday to repair a ruptured disk in his spine, the doctor who performed the operation said.
After the hourlong procedure, Dr. William R. Miely said: “We’re taking it day to day. Usually we would tell most people to take six weeks off from work, but we’re going to shoot for between 10 and 14 days.”
That would mean Cooper’s absence for Big Ten Conference home games against Minnesota on Saturday and Northwestern on Nov. 3.
Cooper had complained since August of pain in his right leg and mild paralysis in his right foot.
