ROUNDUP : Pierce Women Sweep West L.A. to Boost WSC Record to 12-0

Stephanie Burns had nine kills and Gina Johnson and Marvette Williams each had seven Tuesday to lift visiting the Pierce College women’s volleyball team to a 15-10, 15-8, 15-4 Western State Conference victory over West Los Angeles.
Pierce (13-0, 12-0 in conference play) played without three starters because of injuries and personal reasons.
In other women’s volleyball matches:
The Master’s d. Christ College, 15-11, 15-7, 15-4--Carla Vande Steeg had 13 kills to lead Master’s to an NAIA District 3 victory over the Eagles (11-22) at Master’s (19-16, 6-6).
La Verne d. Occidental, 15-7, 15-3, 7-15, 15-4--Amy Sullivan had 13 kills for the Tigers (16-11, 4-4) in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Occidental.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Harvard 29, La Salle 4--Brandon Grusd scored five goals and Antonio Gomez added three for Harvard (17-6, 5-1), which claimed a victory in San Fernando Valley League play at La Salle.
Crespi 18, St. Francis 1--Jean Michele had five goals and Vince Greco added four to lead the Celts (19-2, 5-1) in a San Fernando Valley League match at Woodcrest Pool.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
El Camino Real d. Chatsworth, 15-8, 15-8, 15-11--Jennifer Dinaberg had 14 kills for host El Camino Real (10-0, 7-0) in a match between Northwest Valley Conference rivals.
Reseda d. Cleveland, 15-7, 9-15, 15-12, 15-7--Tracy Dockery had 10 kills to lift host Reseda (2-5, 3-8) in Northwest Valley Conference competition.
Taft d. Kennedy, 15-8, 13-15, 15-13, 15-8--Sarah White had 20 kills to lead the Toreadors (7-3, 4-3) to a Northwest Valley Conference win at Taft.
Chaminade d. St. Paul, 16-14, 11-15, 15-12, 7-15, 15-10--Pam Powers had 18 kills to pace Chaminade (8-5, 4-3) in a Mission League match at Chaminade.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Moorpark 1, Mt. San Antonio 1--Kim Taketa scored at the 20-minute mark of the second half to tie the score in a nonconference match at Mt. San Antonio. Goalie Denise Duarte had five saves for Moorpark (10-0-4).
