Palmdale to Discuss Recycling Alternatives
- Share via
The city of Palmdale will hold a public workshop tonight on plans to develop a municipal recycling program. City officials are expected to discuss recycling alternatives and the results of a study on the contents of city trash.
The workshop, the second in a series of four, is scheduled to run from 7 to about 10 p.m. at the senior citizens center, 1002 10th St. East. City officials are seeking public comment on the type of recycling program preferred by residents.
A state law passed last year to promote recycling requires cities and counties to reduce the amount of garbage they send to landfills 25% by 1995, and 50% percent by 2000. Jurisdictions failing to comply could be fined $10,000 a day.
