Manville Corp.: The international manufacturing and natural resources company posted third-quarter earnings of $24.5 million, down 39% from a year ago. Sales totaled $576 million, a gain of 5%. The Denver firm attributed the results in part to its acquisition of Visypack Pty. Ltd., a leading producer of lithographic folding cartons in Australia. The company also noted an expense of $4.8 million for professional fees because of the restructuring of funding for the Manville Personal Injury Settlement Trust.
