Reward Planned for Leads in Slaying

Religious and political leaders on Thursday announced plans to offer a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer of well-known Encino resident Anita Green, who was gunned down last week in a parking lot.

At a press conference in front of the North Hollywood Police Station, City Councilwoman Joy Picus said she would ask the City Council today to offer $15,000. Rabbi Steven Jacobs of Woodland Hills synagogue Shir Chadash--The New Reform Congregation, where Green served as congregation president, pledged to raise another $15,000 from members of the congregation.

Green was shot Oct. 25 after parking her car behind the office of her estranged husband, who is a tax consultant. Neighbors and witnesses said they saw a motorcyclist driving away from the scene of the shooting and helped police create a composite drawing of the suspect. He is described as a muscular, heavy, white male, 25 to 35 years old, with shoulder-length blond hair and dark eyes.
