MEXICO CITY — More than 100 tourists and locals chased a furious bull that escaped from Acapulco’s bullfighting ring, running down the main boulevard and a stretch of beach at the posh Pacific resort, it was reported today.
The bull, after escaping from a traditional Sunday bullfight, tore down the main boulevard and beach area of Acapulco, the Mexico City newspaper La Jornada said.
About 100 people chased the bull that wounded two people in its path and caused several head-on car collisions, the newspaper said.
The newspaper said police killed the beast with five shots after it had crossed the entire tourist area and charged the town’s crowded central plaza.
