County Teams in Wild-Card Match in Girls’ Tennis

Huntington Beach High School plays host to Woodbridge today in a wild-card match of the Southern Section 4-A girls’ team tennis playoffs.
The winner plays No. 1 Palos Verdes (17-0) in Thursday’s first round.
Corona del Mar (18-2) is the second-seeded team in the 4-A Division. The Sea Kings, led by Keri Phebus, will play host to El Toro (11-10) Thursday in a first-round match.
All matches begin at 2 p.m.
Other Orange County seeded teams in the 4-A are No. 3 Dana Hills (18-1), which on Thursday will play the winner of today’s La Canada/Rio Mesa match, and No. 4 Capistrano Valley (15-4), which plays host to University (14-5) Thursday.
In the 2-A Division, Los Alamitos (12-2) is the top-seeded team. The Griffins have a bye Thursday and play the winner of Lakewood/Fullerton in second-round action Saturday. Sunny Hills (18-2) is the second-seeded team, followed by No. 3 Rosary (15-4) and No. 4 Mater Dei (10-4).
