COUNTYWIDE : Health Department Closes 2 Restaurants
- Share via
The Ventura County Environmental Health Department closed two food establishments in October for violating county standards.
Rancho Meats at 3045 Saviers Road in Oxnard was closed because the electricity had been cut off and because of vermin infestation, according to Health Department reports.
La Providencia Restaurant at 544 Meta St. in Oxnard was closed because of repeated violations involving vermin infestation and because the bathroom facilities were in disrepair, reports say. Food establishments must have hand-washing facilities with soap and hot water and a functioning toilet, at least for employees, said Bob Williamson, manager of community services for the department.
Up to four restaurants in the county are closed each month, Williamson said.
