NATION IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Liftoff of Shuttle, Spy Satellite Set

After months of delays, NASA will try to launch Atlantis next Thursday with a Pentagon spy satellite that reportedly will gather information in the Persian Gulf. Atlantis was supposed to blast off from the Kennedy Space Center in July with the satellite, but the shuttle was grounded by hydrogen leaks. During the grounding, the spacecraft reportedly was modified to spy on Iraqi forces.
