Tyus Edney, a 5-10 point guard from Long Beach Poly, has signed a national letter of intent to play at UCLA, it was announced today.
Edney averaged 14 points and seven assists last season as a junior and guided Poly to a 28-3 record. Owner of a 3.5 grade-point average, he will be a freshman with the Bruins in 1991-92.
“Tyus fits into our program very well,” UCLA Coach Jim Harrick said. “He runs the floor, shares the ball and gets everyone involved. He’s the consummate lead guard.”
