NYSE Probes Georgia-Pacific Report: The New York Stock Exchange is launching an inquiry into the stock activity of Georgia-Pacific Corp. after a questionable report of a buyout attempt of the giant paper company, an exchange spokesman said. At issue was a news release from a consulting firm that said Georgia-Pacific employees were being canvassed to see if they were interested in a buyout of the company’s mills and subsidiaries.
