Two Texas Banks Closed: Federal regulators have closed two more banks in Texas, bringing the number of failures in the state to 100 and in the nation to 159 this year. Closed were Heights Bank in Harker Heights and First National Bank of Rowlett. Last year, 133 banks failed in Texas, and 206 failed in the United States as a whole.
