SANTA ANA : Zoo Celebration to Include Critters

Children will be able to visit Santa Claus and help decorate a giant Christmas tree during the Santa Ana Zoo’s annual “Christmas With Critters” event on Saturday.
Santa Claus will listen to Christmas wishes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will hand out candy canes to visitors. The first 150 children to arrive will receive a wrapped Christmas gift. Elephant rides will be offered during the same hours,
Besides Santa Claus, the event will feature strolling performances by the Century High School Chamber Singers and the Hewes Middle School Vocal Ensemble.
A canned food drive to benefit the Salvation Army will take place in conjunction with the event. Children who donate cans of food will receive a free Santa Ana Zoo poster.
The zoo is in Prentice Park at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is 75 cents for ages 3 to 12 and $2 for all others.
