A Chula Vista man was allegedly killed by his wife Saturday after an argument in which witnesses said the wife chased the husband with a hammer, police said.
Police found Charles Roger Schirmer, 72, dead on the living room floor of their trailer home and his wife, Ginny Schirmer, 59, sitting in the trailer in the 200 block of Broadway. Police were called to the scene at 10:15 a.m. by an unidentified man who entered the house with a neighbor who had tried previously to telephone the victim, police said.
Police said that Charles Schirmer was struck on the forehead at least once with a blunt object and there were signs of cuts on his neck from a knife.
Ginny Schirmer was taken into custody and booked at the Las Colinas Detention Facility.
