BRADENTON, Fla. — Scott May, son of ex-Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Milt May, was listed in critical condition today with head injuries suffered in a Christmas Eve automobile accident.
May, 17, was driving in Bradenton at 11:40 p.m. Monday when he entered a construction zone, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A patrol spokeswoman said May’s car went off the road onto the shoulder and flipped.
A 5-10, 170-pound catcher, May is a two-year starter at Manatee High School and is being recruited by Miami, Florida State and Florida, among others.
