A man with a revolver escaped from the Vons supermarket on El Toro Road on Wednesday night after stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from a store employee.
Just after 7 p.m., the man took a bag from an empty check stand, according to a report from Lt. Richard J. Olson of the Sheriff’s Department.
He then approached an employee in the front of the store, revealed a revolver under his coat and demanded money, Olson said.
After getting the cash, the suspect ordered the employee to walk outside with him and then return to the store without looking back, Olson said.
The robber was described as black, about 27 years old, 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. No escape vehicle was seen, and no one was hurt in the robbery, Olson said.
