In other men’s basketball games:
Antelope Valley 142, San Bernardino Valley 138--J. R. Rider scored 44 points and Tony Madison had 41 for host Antelope Valley in a Foothill Conference game.
Antelope Valley (22-5, 12-2) led by 20 with four minutes remaining, but San Bernardino Valley (10-13, 5-7) took a 131-130 lead with 1 minute 30 seconds to play. The 280 total points breaks an Antelope Valley record for most points eclipsing the old mark of 252.
Moorpark 81, Cuesta 75--Six Moorpark players scored in double figures as the host Raiders (24-4, 5-1) won a WSC game. Damian Wilson scored 15 points and Sam Crawford (11 assists), Sean Doyle, Jimmy Galbert and Mike Waggoner each scored 14 points.
Glendale 92, Bakersfield 67--Alfonso Pule scored a team-high 21 points and teammate Chris Cooke had 18 points and 10 rebounds to pace host Glendale (10-17, 2-5) to a WSC win.
Occidental 85, Whittier 78--Sandy Brown scored 23 points and Rob Leinbach and Hung Duong added 13 and 12 as host Occidental (13-8, 7-2) won a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Canyons 76, Santa Monica 49--Canyons kept its state tournament hopes alive with a crucial home WSC Southern Division victory.
Canyons’ Kim Posey scored a game-high 25 points. Shannon Solway added 19 and 10 rebounds for Canyons (14-14, 3-4).
Valley 78, Pierce 50--Tisa Rush scored 24 points to lead the Monarchs (25-4, 6-1) to a WSC Southern Division victory over host Pierce. Valley led, 35-28, at halftime and used a trapping defense in the second half to rout the Brahmas. Ericka Miller scored 13 points for the Monarchs.
Moorpark 83, Cuesta 55--Amy Chandler and Kerrie Marshall each scored 21 points to pace the first-place Raiders (26-3, 5-0) to a WSC Northern Division victory over Cuesta (15-11, 3-3) at Moorpark.
Antelope Valley 92, San Bernardino 72--Lu Lu Vasquez and Paula Page each had 19 points for Antelope Valley (8-15, 5-5) in a Foothill Conference game at home.
Vasquez also had nine steals and Krischelle Gill added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Cal State Northridge d. UC San Diego, 15-7, 15-11, 15-10--Coley Kyman had 19 kills and Bill Ortgiesen added 16 for Northridge (1-6) in a nonconference game at home.
BASEBALL
Pierce 11, Cal Poly Pomona (JV) 5--Jim Wolf went three for five with two runs batted in to help the host Brahmas (3-2) in a nonconference game. Pierce led, 8-1, after a six-run third inning. Kurt Lowry gave up six hits and three earned runs in five innings to record his first win.
