STARTING OVER: This week’s announcement that the United States might help rebuild postwar Iraq brought a cautious expression of interest from VTN Corp. of Orange. . . . Company head Dan Montano said if a pro-American government gets into power, he’s interested in doing some work. VTN has worked in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, helping build that nation’s “mini-Disneyland,” complete with a roller coaster that Montano said was last seen carted off to Baghdad. . . . “The only economic formula I know for success is to lose a war to the United States,” a la Germany and Japan, Montano jokes.
