Thousand Oaks : Corps Clears Cactus for Hiking Trail
- Share via
The California Conservation Corps has been blazing through a half-mile of cacti and long-needled plants to build a hiking and bicycling trail in Thousand Oaks’ Wildwood Park.
The Moon Ridge Trail, a link to the park’s more than 30-mile trail system, should be completed within two weeks, said Jim Kastner, project coordinator with the corps.
A crew of about 15 has been wearing protective gear and cutting through the vegetation for weeks.
“You have to be real delicate to get it out,” Kastner said of the cacti.
