Lincoln National Corp.: The Ft. Wayne, Ind.-based insurance holding company said fourth-quarter net income fell 39% from a year ago to $59.1 million. Revenue remained at $2.5 billion. Net income for the year was $191.5 million, down 29%. Revenue was $8.5 billion, a slight increase from last year’s $8 billion. The firm noted that 1990 was the industry’s second-worst year for weather-related losses and that such losses “have heightened the problems caused by the deteriorating property-casualty cycle.”
