Ja Ja Fajasm Is Upset Winner

Ja Ja Fajasm scored an upset Friday night at Los Alamitos in the $7,000 Invitational Pace for fillies and mares.

The 20-1 shot, driven by Bob Sleeth, got in perfect position and paced the final quarter in :28 3/5 to beat fading 1-to-5 favorite Cool Charm Girl in a lifetime best of 1:55 4/5.

Lepton, who took the lead entering the stretch, finished second with Perede taking third as Cool Charm Girl wound up fifth.

Ja Ja Fajasm paid $43.60, $10.80 and $6. His time was the fastest of the six-day-old meeting, bettering Vance Lobell’s 1:56 last Saturday night.
