Two men escaped Friday from the James A. Musick Branch Jail in Irvine, but neither is considered dangerous, authorities said.
Jesus Trevino Castorita and Juan Flores Perez, both 20, were reported missing Friday morning at the minimum security jail, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Dick Olson said. The two men were accounted for at a 5 a.m. bed check but failed to show up for their work crew at 8 a.m. The jail is at 13502 Musick, just outside the Irvine city limits in an unincorporated area.
Both were convicted earlier this year on unrelated burglary counts, Olson said. Perez was to be released in April and Castorita in July.
Perez was described as a Latino male, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Castorita was described as a Latino male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.
