Judge Sets ‘Topping Fee’ in FNN Case: A judge in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York set guidelines for competing bids to buy Financial News Network Inc. Judge Francis J. Conrad ruled that any new bids for the 24-hour cable business news channel must be at least $10 million above the current $105 million that NBC has offered for FNN. A joint venture formed by Dow Jones Inc. and Westinghouse Broadcasting had previously bid about $90 million. The judge said competing bids must be submitted by March 25, and a hearing date had been set April 3.
