A survey conducted by the Orange County Homeless Issues Task Force found that the majority of the homeless population is composed of people who have lived here for some time and not of recent arrivals to the county. In fact, a majority of survey respondents said they have lived here at least five years, and four in 10 said they have lived here 10 years or more. Here is the breakdown:
More than 10 years: 41%
Five to 10 years: 13%
Three to five years: 7%
One to three years: 11%
Less than one year: 28%
