Concerning Leonard Feather’s “24 Years of High Notes,” Feb. 17: The caption for Pearl Bailey’s photo says she is flashing “I love you” in sign language. Actually she must be gesturing either “Hook ‘em Horns” or “Hang loose,” because “I love you” required an extended thumb, not a closed one, to signify the letter L.
