Schoolteacher Pamela Smart disclosed that she had fallen in love with a 16-year-old student and decided to kill, rather than divorce, her husband because she did not want to lose her home and her dog, a former confidante testified. The witness, Cecelia Pierce, 16, a student and teaching intern, said she came to realize that Smart was serious when she discussed plans to murder her husband. Pierce testified in Superior Court in Exeter, N.H., where Smart, 23, is charged with planning and abetting the murder of Gregory Smart, 24. William Flynn, 16, has admitted using a gun in the killing of Gregory Smart.
