Child-Care Center to Be Added to Olive View
- Share via
Los Angeles County supervisors agreed Tuesday to include a baby-sitting center in construction plans at Olive View Medical Center.
Supervisor Ed Edelman said patients need a place to leave their children. The waiting rooms at Olive View often are clogged with patients’ children, according to hospital administrators. A child-care service already exists at County-USC Medical Center.
If a developer agrees to build the center, Edelman said he will help the hospital find the money to hire people to run it.
The county is trying to find a developer to lease land near the hospital for use as an industrial park or office complex. That complex would include a child-care center for hospital employees.
