COSTA MESA — Coast Community College District has announced plans to cut water consumption by 25%.
Water-saving shower heads and automatic shut-off faucets have been installed in restrooms and locker rooms at each of the district’s three campuses.
Water district employees will audit consumption at Orange Coast and Golden West colleges, officials said.
The district will also participate in the Orange County Water District’s Green Acres project, which utilizes treated waste water for landscape irrigation instead of dumping it into the ocean.
The district includes Orange Coast, Golden West and Coastline Community colleges and KOCE-TV.
