Calabasas to Install Its 1st City Council
- Share via
The city of Calabasas will hold its inauguration and first City Council meeting today at Calabasas High School at 7:30 p.m.
Calabasas residents voted March 5 to incorporate, marking the end of a 10-year struggle to be free from county zoning authority.
Five leaders from the cityhood campaign--Lesley Devine, Karyn Foley, Bob Hill, Marvin Lopata and Dennis Washburn--will be installed as the first City Council, and one of them will be elected mayor. The installation will be followed by a reception at the school. Future council meetings are scheduled for the first and third Wednesdays of every month in the Las Virgenes School District’s board hearing room.
