Holland, Mayer Return to Gulls for Last 3 Games

Center Dennis Holland and defenseman Derek Mayer, who both played with the San Diego Gulls earlier this season, will return to the squad for the remaining three regular-season International Hockey League games.
Holland, who left Feb. 4, and Mayer, who left Jan. 10, are property of the Detroit Red Wings and went to Adirondack, Detroit’s affiliate in the American Hockey League. Adironack was eliminated from the playoffs Wednesday and since Holland and Mayer are on the Gulls’ 26-man roster, they are eligible to play.
While with San Diego, Holland scored 22 goals and had 29 assists in 42 games and was the Gulls’ leading scorer when he left. Mayer scored nine goals and had 21 assists in 28 with the Gulls.
Holland and Mayer will meet the team in Phoenix and will be available to play tonight against the Roadrunners at 6:30. The game will be telecast live on the San Diego Cable Network.
