Man Waiting for Ride to Work Fatally Shot

A house painter was shot and killed Tuesday morning as he stood in front of his North Hollywood apartment building waiting for a ride to work, police said.
Concepcion Vivar, 49, was in the 6600 block of Tujunga Avenue at 7:40 a.m. when he was shot several times in the chest with a pistol, Los Angeles Police Detective Sonny Medina said. Vivar was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have no suspects and no motive for the shooting.
