Award Winners: Playwright John Guare, who lost the Pulitzer Prize for drama this week to Neil Simon, has a consolation: the Dramatists Guild Hull-Warriner Award for his play, “Six Degrees of Separation.” The $8,500 cash award is the only award given by playwrights to playwrights. Guare won the award previously for his play, “Landscape of the Body.” . . . Houston’s Alley Theatre has named screenwriter-playwright Horton Foote as winner of its fifth Alley Award for perpetuating the art of theater.
