Basketball Player Slain in Fight; Youth Charged

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A 16-year-old spectator at a YMCA-sponsored basketball game was charged with killing a player by stabbing him with a metal table leg during a melee in the final seconds of a tournament game.
Brian Young of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Lloyd Newton, 19, of New York City, during the game Sunday. Authorities were investigating reports of a feud between the two schools in the competition.
