Arthur Gallucci, assistant city manager of Cerritos, has been named city manager to replace Gaylord F. Knapp, whose firing last month came after 18 years on the job.
The vote to give Gallucci, 50, the top job was unanimous. He has been acting as city manager since Knapp’s departure.
Gallucci came to Cerritos in 1971 as recreation superintendent and was promoted to assistant director of human affairs. While he was assistant city manager, Gallucci’s responsibilities included redevelopment negotiations. His salary has not been determined. He is now earning $86,500 annually. Knapp earned about $101,000 annually.
