Lou Saban, 69, Is Hired as Coach at Peru State

Lou Saban, a former coach in the American Football League, was hired by Peru (Neb.) State College, the defending NAIA Division II champion, Friday.
Saban, 69, compiled a record of 97-101-7 in stints with the Buffalo Bills, Boston Patriots and Denver Broncos, and led the Bills to an AFL championship in 1964.
Saban also coached on the college level at Miami, Army, Maryland and Northwestern, after which he coached high school football.
He also had an executive post with the New York Yankees under George Steinbrenner.
