An early morning fire destroyed a restaurant and damaged a Van Nuys office building Tuesday, fire investigators said.
About 55 firefighters battled the blaze at the two-story building at 7061 Hayvenhurst Ave., Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Mike Raden said. Raden said the fire broke out about 12:10 a.m. Tuesday and was extinguished about 50 minutes later.
Flames destroyed the Village Inn restaurant on the ground floor, but did no damage to neighboring buildings. Raden said the fire caused $200,000 of damage to the structure and $50,000 to the contents.
No one was injured, and the cause was under investigation.
