MOORPARK : U.S. Intervention Is Topic of Forum
- Share via
A group of Moorpark College students who organized in January to oppose the Persian Gulf War will sponsor a forum today on the U.S. military role in international conflicts.
The forum, “The U.S. Military as a Global Police Force. What Does It Mean?” will begin at 7 p.m. in the college’s Student Center. The Coalition for Political Responsibility and another student club, Veterans for Peace, will host the free event.
Wayne Cohan, a professor at UC Santa Barbara and the assistant director of the school’s Global Peace and Security program, will offer an historical overview of U.S. military intervention.
Gerald Bridgeman, a political science instructor at Moorpark College, will speak on the country’s involvement in Central America.
Jack Miller, a political science instructor at Moorpark, will address the impact that intervention could have on the Third World.
