The two-day event will focus on earthquake preparedness, environmental conservation and home safety.
The theme of this year’s event is “Live Smart.” Scheduled activities include a rappelling demonstration by a search-and-rescue team, a demonstration of the “Jaws of Life” tool used to extricate victims trapped in cars and other vehicles, and a police and fire vehicle display.
Free child fingerprinting by the city’s Police Department and free blood pressure checks will be available. Complimentary water conservation kits will also be distributed. Also featured will be booths with tips on home security and poison prevention.
The expo will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in Birch Park, at 3rd and Ross streets.
