A Broader Problem Than ‘Cops and Kids’
I feel very much the way many of the black youths felt concerning the police scrutiny I have received in the San Jose area.
I don’t blame it on being a minority because I’m white. I’m not a teen. I’m 33.
I was pulled over eight times by police when driving home from my swing-shift job. I never once received a ticket. I finally got different hours on my job, and the problem has been reduced.
I don’t walk the streets in my neighborhood at night or drive past midnight in my neighborhood. Why? I’m sick of being pulled over.
I haven’t had a moving violation in years. I’m legal. There is a police problem. It’s not all racial. It’s not all in L.A. I’m frustrated too.
