ANAHEIM — A car crossed over a sidewalk and slammed through a plate glass window at a Miller’s Outpost store Friday, but no one was seriously hurt.
The driver, Rosa Craddock, 84, of Anaheim, suffered cuts on her face and an injured leg. She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange after paramedics learned that she has a history of heart problems, Fire Battalion Chief Steve Magliocco said.
Only a few sales clerks were in the store, located at 2230 E. Lincoln Ave., when Craddock’s Chevrolet Citation hit a support post and crashed through a window at 10:30 a.m., Magliocco said.
The car came to a halt in the display area of the store, Magliocco said. Damage to the building and its contents was estimated at $25,000.
Firefighters used a forklift and lumber to shore up the downed support post. Despite the damage, the clothing store remained open.
In a similar accident two days ago, a 55-year-old woman lost control of her car and drove into the Goat Hill Tavern in Costa Mesa. No one was seriously injured in that incident either.
