Newport Beach and Harvard Foundation of Studio City appeared headed for the finals of the United States Water Polo Men’s Outdoor National Championships after they each won two more games at Cal State Long Beach.
The title game is today at 3 p.m. at Cal State Long Beach.
Mike Evans, who was on the 1988 Olympic team, scored seven goals as Newport defeated Beach, 10-6, and Olympic Club, 11-7.
Harvard got five goals from national team member Terry Schroeder in a 16-6 victory over Concord, but needed two fourth-period goals by Robert Lynn to defeat the Newport B team, 13-10.
