CrossRoads ‘Dinosaur’

A great article by architecture critic Aaron Betsky on April 25, “Many Styles Happily Converge at Hollywood’s CrossRoads of the World,” was marred by his statement that “the complex hasn’t kept up with the times and is now a half-empty dinosaur.”
We don’t mind being called a dinosaur. In fact, we find it endearing, as do many businesses in the entertainment industry that call CrossRoads home. Maybe a dinosaur is the perfect noun for a place that attracts entrepreneurs looking for an unusual work environment that helps get creative juices flowing. According to the Great Scott film advertising company, “We don’t feel the slightest bit unfortunate, this place has brought us good luck.”
While neighboring Hollywood buildings suffer with high vacancy rates during these times, CrossRoads is 95% occupied with graphic designers, film and music production companies, recording studios, casting agents, etc.
And, CrossRoads doesn’t really need to keep up with the times--its playful fantasy-like architecture and peaceful courtyards are timeless.
