PREP ROUNDUP : Foothill’s Gonzalez Pitches Perfect Game

Leeann Gonzalez pitched a perfect game, her second no-hitter in three days, as Foothill defeated Villa Park, 6-0, Wednesday in a Century League softball game.
Gonzalez (17-0), who beat Orange with a no-hitter Monday, didn’t allow a ball to be hit out of the infield and struck out seven.
Christina Mazurie hit a three-run home run in the seventh and Kelly Green had two hits and scored two runs for Foothill (20-2, 10-0), which is the first Century League team in 15 years to go undefeated in league.
In another Century League softball game:
Canyon 16, Santa Ana Valley 1--Stephanie Carew had three hits, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning, scored four times and had six RBI. Karen Jacobs (4-1) pitched a two-hitter for host Canyon (21-4, 8-2).
In Pacific Coast League softball:
Laguna Hills 7, Laguna Beach 1--Torin Lee (11-4) pitched a two-hitter, striking out three and walking none for Laguna Hills (15-6, 9-1). Lee had two hits and scored twice and Jennifer Arzola had two hits including a triple and one RBI for visiting Laguna Hills, which clinched a share of the league championship.
In Empire League individuals tennis:
Lindee wins--Sophomore Cameran Lindee of Loara defeated Mike Hammer of Esperanza, 7-5, 6-2 for individual title at Old Ranch Racquet Club. Jason Overell of Loara took third place by defeating Leonard West of Cypress, 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles, Dan Harris and Mike Burgess of Esperanza defeated Scott Schuman and Mike Chen of Los Alamitos, 6-3, 6-3 for the title. Ted McDaniels and Scott Anderson of El Dorado defeated Doug Mackewicz and Jesper Poulsen of Los Alamitos, 6-4, 6-0 for third place.
In the Garden Grove League boys’ tennis finals:
La Quinta sweeps--In a pair of all-La Quinta finals, Bach Nguyen defeated Phillip Lim, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, for the singles title and Hien Ngo and Dung Doan beat the team of Peter Lam and Hung Du, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4, in doubles at Los Caballeros in Fountain Valley.
