Bouquets to Fill the Air

Zinfandels, Chardonnays and Cabernets--all these wines and much more will be poured for your wine-tasting pleasure at the sixth annual Celebration of Wine.
Whether you are a connoisseur or simply curious, Saturday’s wine-tasting benefit--hosted by the Medical Resource Foundation--will offer the opportunity to enjoy a large variety of wines.
“Thirty wineries from around California will be pouring and providing tasting,” Millie Schofield, the foundation’s executive director, said. “This also includes many non-alcoholic wines as well.”
And while you’re not scrutinizing the bouquet of a Sauvignon, delight in the gourmet foods served by 20 Ventura County restaurants and specialty shops.
The event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at Rancho Santa Clara del Norte, 2317 W. Los Angeles Ave. (near the Saticoy Country Club). Proceeds will be used to purchase life-support medical equipment for the Ventura County Medical Center.
An auction of about 12 fine and rare wines--including a Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1966--will also be conducted, Schofield said.
Tickets are $35 and available in advance. For more information, call the Medical Resource Foundation at 652-6268.
