WORLD IN BRIEF : SOUTH AFRICA : Bomb Injures 6; 2 Others Defused

A bomb exploded in a downtown Johannesburg shopping center, injuring six people, and two bombs were defused outside the city’s main police station and a bank, South African police said. There was no claim of responsibility for the explosions or for a restaurant bombing Thursday night that injured seven people. Police said that the devices were all limpet mines, which can be stuck to objects and easily hidden.
