From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Florida’s commercial space agency plans to send up a small rocket from Mexico to study the July 11 solar eclipse after delays in getting U.S. permission to use an abandoned launch pad in the state. The launch from Tuxpan, a community between Mazatlan and Guadalajara, will be the first sponsored by a state. The first of Florida’s suborbital rockets will fly from Mexico because a federal environmental review stopped the maiden flight from Cape San Blas on the state’s west coast.
