World IN BRIEF : ATLANTIC : Norse Oil Tanker Explodes, One Dead

A Norwegian oil tanker exploded in the mid-Atlantic, killing one crewman and sending rescuers scrambling to save 31 people from the waters around the blazing vessel. Norse rescue officials said 27 crew members were picked up, four were missing and one was found dead in the oily seas 900 miles west of Angola. The ABT Summer, carrying 60 million gallons of oil, continued to burn in high winds. An undetermined amount of oil spilled and some was on fire, a Norwegian Rescue Center spokesman said.
