The 199-seat Curtis Theatre in Brea, already home to the Brea Theatre League, will add two new resident theater groups. The Brea Youth Theatre will debut in August with the musical “Oliver!” The Civic Light Opera of Brea will debut in the fall with “Oklahoma!” In the spring, the youth troupe, to be directed by Gene Bennett and Janice Kraus of Newport Beach, will present “The Wiz” and the Civic Light Opera, to be directed by Virginia DeLand of Yorba Linda, will offer “Anything Goes.” DeLand also is president of the Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera.
